Photography: This past weekend

I figure at some point I will decide that I just have to shell out the cash for a camera helmet and join in fun of taking photos while falling from the sky at over 120mph, but for now I think there are plenty of good photo opportunities on the ground.

This past weekend I got a couple of photos I am happy with. Even though my Canon Powershot A620 isn’t spectacular, it isn’t bad in any sense and has potential if it’s pointed at the right place at the right time. It could be even better with a great lens, but I haven’t decided whether I want to spend $70 on a lens or buy a new camera altogether. I’ve been thinking about buying a Canon Rebel XT. Right now I need an AAD for my rig, so that will have to wait.

Now that I am officially USPA A-licensed I was able to jump with a jumper that does not have a coach or instructor rating and land closer to the hangar since I am allowed to go past the peas on my downwind-leg. Walking half a mile back to the hangar was starting to get old. Yes, I know it’s mostly to blame for my current accuracy skills.
